Day 1 (D) HOME PORTS, BRISBANE
Passengers from Perth, Adelaide and Sydney join Qantas flights (subject to availability) departing to arrive in Brisbane early afternoon. Following metropolitan home pick up Melbourne passengers meet at Melbourne Airport for the flight to Brisbane. All passengers join an Australian Air Holidays transfer coach for a short tour of the city on route to our overnight accommodation.

Day 2 (B,L,D) BRISBANE, LONGREACH, KARUMBA, HORN ISLAND, THURSDAY ISLAND
Following breakfast passengers from Brisbane join us at the private Brisbane Jetbase where we board the comfort plus Fokker 50. Just over two hours later we land at Longreach to refuel and then continue to Karumba on the Gulf of Carpentaria. Cruise on the Gulf on board Ferryman I.

Later we fly “low and slow” along the western shore of Cape York to Weipa and the Torres Strait Islands, landing on Horn Island. A short ferry transfer to Thursday Island.

Day 3 (B,L,D) THURSDAY AND HORN ISLANDS
Coach tour of Thursday Island, with some free time to explore, including a visit to Green Hill Fort. Enjoy a fresh crayfish lunch prior to transferring to Horn Island by ferry, enjoy an island tour plus a visit to the Horn Island museum, learn a little of the WW11 era.

Day 4 (B,L,D) CAPE YORK, NORTHERN TIP OF AUSTRALIA, COOKTOWN
A highlight of the weekend is a journey to the Northern most point of Australia’s mainland. Enjoy a 40 minute return walk to the tip (reasonable fitness required) or relax and enjoy the shaded beach. Followed by a low scenic flight over the group of Islands on route to Cooktown. (*Jun 7 & 8 departures stay 3 nights on Thursday Island.)

Day 5 (B,L,D) COOKTOWN, CAIRNS, BRISBANE
Morning tour of Cooktown and time to browse the shops in town before continuing onto Cairns. Passengers staying in Cairns depart and other passengers continue to Brisbane. Passengers continuing to Brisbane rejoin our aircraft for the flight to Brisbane. On arrival, Brisbane passengers depart and other passengers transfer to overnight accommodation and dinner.

Day 6 (B) BRISBANE, HOME PORTS
Following breakfast we transfer mid morning to Brisbane Airport for flights to our home ports. Melbourne passengers are transferred to their hotels or metropolitan homes. So concludes a memorable and most enjoyable Australian Air Holidays visit to Cape York and the Torres Strait Islands.
